The 2022 World Cup Championship final was one of the best, if not the best, World Cup Championship finals of all time. The game occurred on December 18, 2022, featuring the countries of France and Argentina. The game would eventually end in an Argentina win, as they won in penalties. Lionel Messi and Mbappe would find themselves scoring multiple goals for their team. Messi had two goals in the championship match, while Mbappe scored four.

The man that had eyes all on him from around the world would be no other than Lionel Messi, who was helping his team and himself win the 2022 World Cup. And that was exactly what happened. Messi managed to find himself two goals in the match that would help push his Argentina team to victory. Messi’s first goal came off a penalty that would start the score chase between the two teams. He scored on a penalty kick for both his goals.

This 2022 World Cup concluded Messi’s World Cup races as he announced beforehand it was the last one he would be in. Messi had never won a World Cup, and that was what he aimed for and accomplished to do. He scored seven goals and had three assists in his World Cup run, though he did not win the Golden Boot because Mbappe had one more goal over him.
