Wilson has received 16.5 million dollars from Federal Community Projects Funding to help make the city felt newer.

This money will be contributed to many different projects around Wilson. 7 million of the money will be for a water quality and greenway project in Wilson. 4 million will be used to improve parks and neighborhoods. 3.5 million will be used to help improve sewer collection systems. The last 2 million will be used to help expand Wilson Ride. The Wilson Ride is the new transportation vehicles the city bought to help transport people.

Wilson's leaders have also committed to rebuilding the mall. A mall back in Wilson could help bring back the community and more money into the city so that the city of Wilson can get more active and make them nicer. Wilson is trying it best to help bring the city back to life and get people involved again. Chloe Howard said, “a new mall would be nice, and it would help bring more money back into Wilson.” Also, she said “I am glad to see people helping Wilson and trying to make it a better place.”
