Varsity boys soccer off to great start

by Avery Williams

The varsity boys' soccer team defeated Epiphany Christian 5-0 on August 29th.

A key player to the victory was Nathan Lozevski. Nathan (#8) is a senior and a captain on the boys’ team.

Coach Wilkinson said “He took control of the game by not losing the ball, knowing when to dribble and shoot, and kept possession for the team.”

The team is currently 7-2-1 as of September 13.

The goals of the season are to win the 2A conference and the State Championship, via Coach Wilkinson.

Player expectations are simple from the coach, give 100% and give your best. “The team is progressing but lots to work on; intensity, effort, and putting pieces together.”

Coach Wilkinson’s coaching philosophy is, "nothing is given, everything is earned. If you work to be the best, you must put effort in. I try to teach soccer skills and life skills.”
