The Greenfield Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team is almost through with a very successful 2023 to 2024 season. The boys’ record is 17 and 5. They have played in two tournaments, and their head coach, Rob Salter, was impressed by the team’s performances at both.

The boys on the Greenfield team are physically smaller than others, but their athleticism makes up for it. They are also very close, which is definitely helpful on the court. They love playing at home games, and as Coach Salter says, “We’ve said we shoot better here, and we like playing in front of our families.”

Of the fourteen players on the team, six are seniors. They have a few younger players, including one eighth grader and one freshman. They did lose several teammates when students graduated last year, but the players have recovered well, and Salter stated, “When it was their time to step up, they did.”

Most of the students who were polled were confident that the team will make it to the playoffs this year.

Coach Salter said, “Our goal is to get better every day, and I think we’ve done that.”
