Update on AC in gym

If you have ever been to an assembly, sporting event, or lip sync battle at Greenfield School, one thing you have most likely noticed is the lack of air conditioning in the gym.

Head of School, Deb Rogers says “...there has been a lot of conversations over the years about putting an AC unit in the gym, but as we have been planning to do campus renovations across campus, one of the big things that came up over and over...again is the gym.”

The reason the new AC unit has taken such a long time to be installed is because it’s a big project and the gym is not meant to have an AC unit in it due to the design of the gym being nearly incompatible.

With this new AC unit being installed, more people may show up to games or assemblies because the gym will become a more comfortable environment for people to enjoy. “... some of our teams are a little reluctant to come here because it's so hot... it's going to be a much more enjoyable experience for everybody,” Mrs. Rogers said eagerly.

A concern about the gym getting AC is that the advantage Greenfield has over visiting teams will be taken away, because Greenfield athletes are so used to playing in the heat and the visiting teams are not, so the visitors get tired faster. Nevertheless, Greenfield will soon have a more comfortable place for the student body to gather.
