On September 29, 2023, Duane “Keeffe D” Davis was arrested for the murder of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. Prosecutors say Davis ordered the killing in 1996.

On the night of Sept. 7, 1996, Tupac was in a BMW that was being driven by Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight; they were at a red light near the Las Vegas Strip when Cadillac pulled beside them, and gunfire erupted. Shakur was shot multiple times and died that week.

Davis is one of four suspects identified early in the investigation in 1996. Davis was not the actual shooter but was named the group’s leader by authorities Friday at a news conference and in court.

A poll was sent to people who had heard about this news. The results were mostly saying that Davis was guilty of this, with 75% of the four people who responded saying that he was guilty.

I interviewed Landyn Coolbaugh about the arrest, and he said, “Keffe D is guilty, and I'm glad he was arrested,” Landyn is an avid listener of Tupac and feels that justice is served because of all the evidence presented against Davis.
