Tito's Takes: Cowboys Disappoint Once Again

by Tyler Thompson

Wild Card Weekend was a relatively boring set of games.

Every game went as expected. The two seeds served beat downs to the seven seeds: the Raiders were first round exits ,with Derek Carr throwing the game away; the Rams beat the Cardinals, which was inevitable after the Cardinals mid-season collapse; the Bills crushed the Pats.

These games were all either boring or expected.

But one game rose above all.

This game came down to the wire and ended with a quarterback run by Dak Prescott, followed by some chaos with spiking the ball. This chaos resulted in Dak spiking the ball with zeros on the clock.

The Cowboys had once again fallen short. With all of the talent the Cowboys have, this result is absolutely unacceptable. Their roster has Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot, a top-5 receiving core, and a great defense led by to-be Defense Rookie of the Year, Micah Parsons. The Cowboys falling short once again and Dak dropping to 1-3 in the playoffs cannot happen.

The call for the quarterback run was bad, and regardless of who called it, this game should not have even come down to it. The amount of talent the Cowboys have should have never made this game as close as it was. So, who is to blame?

Mike McCarthy: the head coach who lied to Jerry Jones in the head coach interview about watching every Cowboy’s snap from the prior season. The head coach who is not fit for this job.

The Cowboys better act soon. Both the offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, and the defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, are up for head coaching jobs. The Cowboys need to replace McCarthy with one of these two before they lose both. Both have proved that they have potential to be great head coaches. As of now, there have been no indications that McCarthy will be fired. Only time will tell.

Cowboys fans, if Mike McCarthy is retained, be ready for more disappointment.
