I'm Veer Patel; on behalf of the Asian students at Greenfield School, I want to take the lead in updating the average American on interesting international affairs and news concerns across the globe, with particular respect to South Asia.
I will address the most recent installment of the biggest rivalry game of South Asian entertainment: India v Pakistan. As a young follower of cricket, I had an immediate attachment to the game and the ongoing decades of constant rivalry.
Obviously, being from Indian descent, I would root for the corresponding team; but for those who root for Pakistan, I must politely disagree with the choice of favoring the team.
The game began in favor of India and had fans raving over the game “off the bat,” but eventually Pakistan caught up with just enough wickets to tie the game.
As the game progressed, India’s best player, Virat Kohli, picked up many runs to make up what India thought was a secured victory. Little did we know that Pakistan’s team had an immediate spark of energy to end the well-fought game by ten wickets.
Many members of the Indian community dreaded that loss, but what kept us on our toes was the excitement for the next rivalry game.
