Valentine's Day takes place February 14th every year. Valentine's Day is a day where lovers express their affection to their lovers with greetings or gifts. Valentines' Day is a holiday celebrated in the United States and in many other places around the world. Valentines was technically established by Pope Gelasius l in AD 496 when he had the Feast of Saint Valentine.
Valentine's takes place on February 14 since that is the day that the Saint Valentine of Rome died that day. Saint Valentine of Rome was a Roman priest and physician who was martyred during the persecution of Christians in the Roman era. The saying “from your valentine” was started when Saint Valentine signed a letter to his jailer's daughter whom he had healed their blindness. The Roman Catholic Church recognizes Saint Valentine as a saint of the church even though he was removed from the Roman calendar in 1969.
Valentine's is mostly a day where lovers will get together and give flowers and candy to one another with notes and many other ways to express their love. Many students replied that to celebrate they "make cookies and watch movies to show our love for one another."
