Texas Rangers win the World Series

By William Lanier

On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the Texas Rangers won the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The series started on Friday, October 27, with the Rangers winning the first game. The Diamondbacks only won the second game 9-1, but the Rangers won the series 4-1. This win marks the Rangers' first ever world series win in 62 years of being in the MLB.

They finished their season with a 90-72 record and second in the AL West, only behind the Houston Astros. The Ranger's record was 11-0 on the road during the playoffs, which is the best they have done in the team's history.

Cory Seager, the Rangers star shortstop, was awarded MVP, making him the fourth player in MLB history to win multiple World Series MVP Awards with different teams.

A poll was sent to 12 of my classmates asking if they had watched the World Series, and 66 percent said yes, they had. They were also asked who they were cheering for, and 60% answered the Diamondbacks.

Connor Daniel is a classmate of mine who watched the World Series, and when asked who the clear winner from the start was, he stated, "The Rangers obviously won this from the start because of the way they were playing. They were scoring every inning basically even though I wanted the Diamondbacks to win.”
