Teaching continuing in war-torn Ukraine

by Alex Mallozzi

Contrary to what many people may think, school in Kyiv is ongoing amidst the conflict with Russia and Ukraine. Schools and many civlian-operated buildings in Kyiv have taken measures to adapt to the territorial conflict ongoing on the borders of Russia and Ukraine by undergoing mandatory power-outages. These forced blackouts are conducted in order to conserve power for places it is needed most, such as military buildings, devices, or operations contributing significantly to Ukrainian military power. Missile strikes over the past months have crippled the country’s power grid.

Approximately half of Ukrainian students have opted to study online, assuming it is the safer way of education available at the moment. Ukraine's resource managing is doing the best they can to support their country’s military effort, and unfortunately it has negatively impacted civilian life in many ways.
