Swim season underway

by Ella Walston

On December 2nd, Greenfield School’s swim team will compete in their first meet of the season, which continues through to the beginning of February.

Our team has been training at the new YMCA facility in Wilson 5 nights a week and incorporating dryland practices into workouts to give the swimmers alternative ways to build strength and condition their bodies for the season ahead of them. These workouts help prepare the swimmers for the many events that they will compete in. There are 11 events including breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and more.

Coach Erin Brown says that she is “really excited to see our swimmers grow and challenge themselves to become faster and stronger.” We have a younger team this year, and Coach Brown says that she is looking forward to seeing them grow in the long term and get better as they continue through the years.

If you would like to support the swim team at their meets, you can take a look at the schedule for the upcoming season here.
