Students, faculty looking forward to prom

by Ethan Carraway

The Greenfield Prom is right around the corner, and students are ready to go and have fun. It seems this year will be the best so far considering who is running the show.

Mrs. King is one of the leaders who will be overseeing the prom and she has a couple things to say about the prom herself.

“I hope that everyone will be excited about the prom. This is the first time in three years that students can bring dates who are not Greenfield students. The junior class is working hard to plan a fun evening and the Bluegrass barn is a beautiful and fun place for a party.”

Mrs. King also has some other thoughts to share about how the last prom went. “Last year almost every upper school student went to the prom. Everyone was glad to have something fun to do in the middle of Covid. Because it was restricted to our students only and was held in the cafeteria, we used a completely different format with Casino Night. Students seemed to have a good time and faculty members had fun being "dealers" for the various games.”

The difference between the setting of last year and this year is a clear sign that creativity and originality is being put into the prom every single year.

As a closing statement, Mrs. King also would like to share why she enjoys doing the prom. “I enjoy watching students take leadership roles in the planning and executing ideas for the prom. There are always some students who are willing to go the extra mile to make sure tasks are done. Being with students in a non-learning environment is good for teachers and students alike.”

This year will have another successful prom for the students to not only enjoy, but to cherish in their memories for the years to pass.
