Student mental health during exams

by Rickayla Myles

The end of the 2022 school year at Greenfield School is approaching and coming with it is exams, various assignments, tests, and numerous projects.

A student’s mental health can have a big impact on having all these classes to study for and do work for in addition to exams. Exams and the many assignments due before the end of the year and this could cause stress, depression and anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, self-harming, and dangerous thoughts, as well as the progression of pre-existing mental health disorders.

Greenfield School policy has it so that students will be studying in all their classes the week before exams, and no homework is to be given, except study for that class. There are some ways to reduce stress from exams. Some ways to relieve stress from the exams is go on a walk, eat something healthy every now, and getting sleep for at least 8 hours a night. Exams can be stressful, but you have to look at the bright side of it and think one thing only, and that one thing is summer.
