On October 28th, 2023, Professional hockey player Adam Johnston was struck in the neck by the blade of Matt Petgrave's skate. Most people say this incident was unintentional in a poll that was sent out with 100% of the 12 people saying this.

The British police arrested a man on Tuesday for suspicion of manslaughter in this case; no name or age was released by the police, but it is believed to be Matt Pettgrave who was released on bail shortly after.

Adam Johnson was a part of Augsburger Panther in Germany before he switched to the Nottingham Panthers this past august the team manager described this as a freak accident and not intentional. The Panthers also stated, “Adam, our number 47, was not only an outstanding ice hockey player, but also a great teammate and an incredible person with his whole life ahead of him. The Club will dearly miss him and will never ever forget him.”

I interviewed hockey fan Landyn Coolbaugh on the case asking should there have been an arrest in the case of Adam Johnson, Landyn responded and stated, “this incident was unavoidable and its terrible that it happened but there should not have been an arrest for manslaughter over this awful accident.”
