Shoe culture

by Ethan Carraway

For years, shoes have been an important part in clothing, protection, and fashion. It was normal for people to not wear shoes or any foot-wear of that sort. In modern day, it is considered weird if you do not wear shoes in public.

Here’s a little history fact: according to Solescience.ca, the first shoe was invented in 8000 BCE. They were made from bark and were found in a cave in 1938. It’s cool to see how early on humans realized that feet are pretty important and should be given some love too.

Shoe culture didn’t really start until the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution made the world go from, “Wow, you don’t have shoes”, to,”Wow, you don’t have Jordans.”

So let me break it down for you. Shoes aren’t all equal. Some shoe brands have bigger names than others like Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Converse, Stiletto, Gucci, Versace, Prada, Bape, Balenciaga, and Supreme. Of course, you can find any ol’ generic shoe at the dollar store and probably be fine.

The reason why people would rather buy from the big brands is because of the price. These companies I just named are not cheap and a lot of their shoes cost hundreds of dollars on resale and the reason why I said resale is because of how fast new shoes are snatched from the original websites and are posted on other websites for significantly higher prices. For example, The Nike Jordan 4 and Off-White crossover shoe was originally sold at a 200$ average price range. The price today stands at around 1000$-1500$. I even have a couple pairs of Jordans myself.

If you want to look good and take care of your feet, think about what you’re wearing on them before you leave the house.
