Many assume the main reason for her stepping down was the recent break in she had. In late October her house got broken into by multiple people shouting “Wheres Nancy!” Nancy Pelosi was not at home but her husband Paul Pelosi, was home and was seriously injured. Paul was attacked and had to have emergency skull surgery and had injuries to his arm. Nancy soon after stepping down as leader of House Democrats leads many to think that this is the reason.
I asked Mrs. Peele if she expected Nancy Pelosi to step down as leader of House Democrats and she said “Yes. She had been in office for a long time.”
