Outdoor Adventure Club heads to Hanging Rock State Park

by Emily Ross

This past November, the Outdoor Adventure Club took a trip to the Eno River State Park. Their trip was full of hiking, building a fire and looking at the gorgeous views.

On March 24-26 the Outdoor Adventure Club will embark on a trip to Hanging Rock State Park, located in Stokes County, North Carolina. Hanging Rock State Park is about 3 hours away and is known for a giant rock that hangs over a ledge, hints how it gets the name “Hanging Rock.”

I asked Sara Miller, a member of the Outdoor Adventure Club, a few questions to learn a little more about their trip. Sara said that she does not know their exact plans, but she knows that they will be hiking some on waterfall trails and that they are going to see the actual hanging rock. “I am excited for this trip because the last trip we took was a lot of fun and we did more than I expected”. She says there will be a maximum of 12 students going on the trip.
