Kids may love extra credit, but how does your teacher feel about it?
Extra credit has helped a lot of people, but some teachers do not like it. Some teachers do not like it because they do not think students should get themselves in a hole with their grades in the first place. I interviewed Mrs. Peele and she said, “I do not give extra credit, but always helps the kids by dropping their lowest grade in the class."
Mrs. Peele does this because she understands the students may not understand the material or they may have too much work.
On the other hand, extra credit may not be good because if a student does not try in a class, why should they deserve to bring their grade up? Teachers also believe that the work you put in will determine your grades on your report card. So before you ask for extra credit, ask yourself if you deserve it.

Do you think extra credit is good or bad for students to get or earn? Upper school science teacher Mrs. Lupton said she thinks students should be able to get extra credit because she believes that students should be able to get extra credit that comes from a review game or doing extra work. Mrs. Lupton also said that if you were a few points away from an A, she would not give you extra points because you did not earn them.
I also interviewed William Lanier in the 9th grade on his thoughts on extra credit. William said that students should be allowed to get extra credit on tests. He said that because sometimes students forget to do their homework because they have a lot of other classes too.
