Obit: Ken Block

On January 2, 2023 Ken Block's death was confirmed by his company and the Utah Police Department. He died when he was 55,and he leaves behind a wife and three children.


Ken Block was an American professional Rally driver and stunt driver and the co-founder of the sports apparel brand DC Shoes. He has become well-known for his popular Gymkhana series of viral videos showcasing his driving stunts as well as his appearances in the popular video game series, Need for Speed.


Block started his career as a professional Rally driver in 2005, competing in the Rally America National Championship. He then joined the Subaru Rally Team USA for the 2007 season, and went on to win the Rally America Championship in both 2008 and 2010. As of 2018, Block has competed in events all over the world, including the World Rally Championship, the Global RallyCross Championship, and the X Games. In a survey people said things like “Ken Block influenced me to get into cars”, and “Ken Block was a great driver with some amazing cars.”
