One of the new teachers joining us this year is Mrs. Pace, who is the new upper school math teacher and the sponsor for the FCA club. Some of the schools she has taught at before Greenfield include Louisburg College, Southern Nash, and Eastern Carolina University (ECU). She attended Campbell and ECU for undergraduate and graduate college studies in mathematics.
When asked what had inspired her to become a teacher, she remarked that the joy of helping students understand difficult subjects was key. In her own words, “I became a teacher because I’ve always loved helping people.” She came to Greenfield because it was one of the few classroom environments in which the students were enthusiastic and serious about their education.

In regard to Mrs. Pace’s personal life, her favorite place in North Carolina is Hatteras Island as it is ‘low-key,’ and a fun fishing village. On the contrary, she does also enjoy traveling to the mountains and exploring far off places into the distance. She has two pets, a beagle named Molly, and a cat named Ellie that she is particularly fond of. She also loves to spend time with her family whenever she is able to.
A warm welcome is due for Mrs. Pace as she joins the Greenfield faculty and family where she is sure to enjoy her next phase in teaching and living.
