New Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Kelly Coats

by Ella Walston

Mrs. Kelly Coats is new to Greenfield this year and is a 2nd-grade teacher assistant this year.

She has four daughters, ages ranging from kindergarten to college senior. Her youngest daughter entering kindergarten made her want to come to Greenfield.

She was previously a teacher in Johnston County and had taken time away from teaching until this year. She loves the tradition we hold as a school and how you can count on and look forward to certain annual events. She also mentioned that starting in preschool, Greenfield gives students a firm foundation for learning that is built on through the years.

She also runs an equestrian facility in Smithfield. Mrs. Coats said that she likes that she has been able to ease back into teaching without having the full responsibility of being a teacher.

Along with all our other new staff members this year, we are thrilled and incredibly lucky to have Mrs. Coats as a part of the Greenfield family.
