Mrs. Deb Rogers is the new Head of School at Greenfield, and The Knight's Post sat down with her to ask her a few questions.
“Campus expansion is a big part of [my plans for Greenfield], because as you know we have some older facilities here, while they have a lot of charm, as time goes on, they become less functional” she added.
One of the exciting plans she gave us was about the new building being built in the field across from the cafeteria. It will be the new High School building and eventually the middle school building, that has ten classrooms, a decked-out lab for the science classes, and space in the hallway to relax and study with friends or by yourselves.
We are also going to have “New electives and pathways for students in the classes they choose” she stated.
Mrs. Rogers attended Penn State University as an undergraduate, went to NC State University to get her masters, and lastly, Barton for her license of Education. She also explained that her first school job was in Kansas doing social work with kids who were struggling in school.
After that she came to Greenfield to be the guidance counselor before Mrs. Bradley came along. She then left and went on to Fike High School to be the guidance counselor for 5 years and afterwards moved to Hunt High School to be the Principal.
Finally, she returned to Greenfield this year to be our new Head of School. We are so happy to have her back on campus here at Greenfield!
