If you were to name an artist who has consistently kept the game of rap music fresh with singles, albums, and features, hands down it goes to Drake.
Drake has not only outperformed most artists with his latest album, Certified Lover Boy, but also with his past albums like Scorpion, More Life, and Views. He did features with Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Meek Mill, who are all famous and talented people in the music industry.
Drake deserves to be at the top, so why don’t we start from the bottom and see where he began?
Aubrey Drake Graham (Drake) was born on October 24th, 1986, in Toronto, Canada, where he grew up and started gaining a following through acting in a show called Degrassi: The Next Generation.
After that, he made his debut album in 2010, Thank Me Later, which became #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200. He later created two albums and one mixtape which are named consecutively, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Drake was starting to become an icon for his music, and when he released Views, he blew up overnight. Drake instantly became known for his songs like Controlla, One Dance, and Hotline Bling, which became #2 in the U.S. Billboard 100 and gained two Grammys in 2017.
Drake’s success only skyrocketed after this with More Life and Scorpion making millions of dollars. His most recent album CLB is no exception from the list, with it being his most popular album with the most sales and listens on every platform where it was publicly released. Drake went from small time actor to big time music producer in ten years, and all it took was a bit of courage, luck, and talent.
