On January 1st, 2023, a law in Missouri against homeless people said that they could not sleep on state land.

Chloe Howard said that she does not agree with this law because “Where do they expect people to go in such a short time?” Also, people may not be able to get jobs because of their background history. Chloe said that “The state should give people either money to leave the state with or help them find a job.”

Missouri enacted this law because it wanted to try and help people that needed help and make it safer to walk around. But this may lead to homeless people sleeping in someone's backyard. Chloe said, “I think trying to get rid of homelessness is good, but this may not be the way to do it because people cannot buy a house right away.” Will Missouri keep this law or end up changing it? The question the people want to know.
