In March Madness, sixty-five different teams compete for the championship. It's not simply the top 65 teams; they are selected from more than three hundred Division I basketball teams that make the cut. Teams are divided into 31 conferences, and each conference receiving an automatic berth. Except for the Ivy League, every conference holds a season-ending conference championship, with the victor receiving an automatic berth. The Ivy League does not participate in tournaments; hence the regular season champion receives a bid. A selection committee chooses the other 34 teams.

Here are some scores from this year's tournament. On March 26, 2022, NC State had won against Norte Dame Fighting Irish; the score was 66-63. NC State had 16 turnovers and 32 rebounds. In the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 in the Bridgeport Regional, Notre Dame had NC State on the ropes. In fact, Notre Dame was moments from beating NC State for the second game this season and advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time. Instead, the tables flipped and at the worst imaginable moment, and Notre Dame returned home with a loss to 66-63.

This upcoming weekend on April 2, 2022, Duke and North Carolina will be going against each other. The rivalry between them is very intense because of how their separate basketball programs are one of the main causes of their rivalry. Every year, at least certainly another of the schools is a national title candidate.
