Kentucky Derby fundraiser a success

On May 7th 2022, Greenfield School held a spring fundraising event. The Greenfield Kentucky Derby Extravaganza at the Wilson Arts Center at 5:30 p.m. The theme at this event was the Kentucky Derby, and attendees wore crazy extravagant hats and headpieces on their head.

This is a fundraiser that raises the most money the whole year. The money goes towards the school, and they raised about $160,000.

At the Extravaganza there were different prizes, and people could bid on items at an auction. Some of the prizes were trips to different places, furniture, paintings, one hundred dollar gift cards, and even a puppy.

“It was great night that did a lot for the school, and it was a successful night” Mrs. Powell said.
