Iowa causus

by William Lanier

On Monday January 15th, 2024, The Republican party primaries for president of the United States were held in Iowa. Former President Donald Trump got a record win in the Iowa Caucuses with his opponents losing by 30 points, which is the largest victory since Bob Dole's 13-point victory in 1988.This victory confirms his grip on the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Trump’s opponents were Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, And Vivek Ramaswamy, and his closest opponent was DeSantis who earned 21% of votes. On January 15th Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out of the running while endorsing Trump for president in 2024, Ron DeSantis ended his campaign on January 21st he will also be endorsing Donald Trump. The 2024 Iowa caucus was the lowest turnout for a caucus in 25 years, due to life-threatening cold and dangerous driving conditions. In a poll sent to 13 citizens they were asked what candidate they support and 100% of the 13 people said Donald Trump is their choice. I interviewed Dylan Carpenter about the Iowa Caucus because Dylan is young, but he is very into politics and keeps up with the run for president. I asked him who he would be supporting, and he said, “Trump is my choice because I think he's the only candidate so far who is president material or could handle it.”
