Hurricane season is afoot

Hurricane season starts June 1st and ends November 30th. Hurricanes can have one to five categories, with five being the worst and one being the least destructive. Hurricane Katrina was the most destructive hurricane in the United States, which took place in 2005.

For a hurricane to form, it needs a few things to become a hurricane or tropical storm. One of the first stages of a hurricane forming is low pressure. Then an eye forms, and the winds pick up. Then the hurricane finally forms.

As many of you may know, Hurricane Ian was over Florida a few weeks ago, and came towards North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina. With the 2022 hurricane season coming, this will not be the last hurricane of the year. Hurricane Ian was a Category 3 hurricane until it strengthened to a Category 4 on Tuesday, 9/27.

Hurricanes are no joke, and you need to prepare very carefully, so you do not lose a lot of belongings to the hurricane.
