The Greenfield Haunted Trail, an event that celebrates Halloween, will be on October 20 and 21, 2023, in the forest behind Greenfield’s Forbes Field.

This is an event that the Upper School Student Government Association (SGA) organizes. According to Seth Penwell, one of the chaperones of SGA, the Haunted Trail is very well organized. “We start talking about it in the summer with the officers for SGA... then, when the rest of SGA is elected, we spend several weeks coming up with the different sections...” This is the sixth year that the Trail has been organized.

Members of Upper School SGA are allowed to be part of the Trail, along with the 2023 senior class and sometimes faculty members’ children.

Equipment is easy to acquire. As Penwell said, Greenfield already has most of the equipment. The rest that is needed is either borrowed or ordered online.

Most of the people polled are excited to go to the trail with their friends and see everyone’s costumes. While some are not as excited, many look forward to being terrified!

Penwell also hinted that students can look forward to a new section this year, along with some scary twists to old favorites.
