GS girl's soccer begins season

The Greenfield Varsity Girls’ soccer team is set to begin regular season practices February 11th, with their first game on March 2nd. On the 2nd, the team will play Fayetteville Academy at Greenfield at 6:00 PM. The varsity team look to win themselves conference champions and state champions in their first season in the 2A conference. Coach Randol Mendoza and Coach Justin Wilkinson look excitedly for the season ahead. “We are excited to see what the season will hold. Our level is really good as of now. We are where we would have been in the middle of last season.”

Last season the Greenfield Varsity Girls’ soccer team fell to Grace Christian in the state championship game, 2-3, where they fought to the very end. The loss exposed many mixed emotions across the team. Pride and joy for having made it to the championship position and disappointment and sadness for the loss.
