Greenfield hosts cross country race

by Alex Mallozzi

This year on September 26, Greenfield school hosted a Cross Country meeting. The race was 5 kilometers (3.1 miles), and the course extended all around the school. The course is mostly out in the open or on a field, so spectators had an easy time finding the runners.

For both the girls' and boys' races, first place was taken by Runners from Parrot Academy. The meeting was considered a scrimmage, and official team placements and times were not recorded, but Coach Stronach recorded the results for each member of our team.

Each person improved their personal best times. In the interview conducted with Cross Country team Coach Devon Stronach, she says “our course is a full 5k unlike some courses, and it’s a good spectator course, where you can see the runners almost the whole way.” She also said “It would be great to host more meets in the future.”
