On March 16th, the Greenfield Golf Team attended their first match of the season. The team could only take 5 people from the team so the qualifiers were Henry Daniel, Connor Daniel, Cooper Howell, Wesley Howard, and Zachary Owens. The match was held in New Bern against many schools. These schools included Rocky Mount Academy, Coastal Carolina, and many others.

At the match all the players were in a group of 3 players from different schools. They would switch score cards. The lowest three scores would be added up and submitted. Greenfield's lowest three scores were 100 from Wesley Howard, 104 from Henry Daniel, and 110 from Zachary Owens, which is not good compared to other teams. Henry Daniel said, ”that match was not good. I think that we came in last.”

The team dismissed from school at 10:10 am and drove for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the New Bern country club where they played 18 holes of golf over a 5 hour period.

The team made a post on the Greenfield Golf Team Instagram that said that they didn't win and that “you don't have to be the best, you just have to beat the worst.”
