North Carolina, as well as the United States, had some extremely chilly weather from December 19-25 of 2022. During this time many states had freezing temperatures and freezing weather.

According to ABC eleven, this front caused it to be the coldest Christmas in many years. This part of the USA has not seen it this cold on Christmas since the 1980s. In Stantonsburg, NC, on Christmas eve morning, it was 18 degrees but felt like –1. The state had an average temperature of 27 degrees on Christmas eve.

But we were not the only state to feel like this; Georgia also experienced extremely cold weather. I interviewed my cousin in Atlanta, GA who said, “temperatures got in the teens, and it was freezing".

This wintry weather made holiday traveling harder across the country and in some places it was impossible. Many airlines were not able to fly. Whether you enjoyed it or not, this cold weather made this Christmas memorable for all.
