On December 13, 2023, Draymond Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA due to unsportsmanlike conduct as he had repeatedly injured other players over a course of multiple games. Draymond Green has been in the NBA since 2012 but recently his actions have almost caused the end of his career. Draymound Green has injured players such as, Jordan Poole, Rudy Gobert, and Jusuf Nurkic.
The NBA chose to indefinitely suspend Draymond Green so he will have to find a way to manage his issues instead of taking them out on others. Jeremy Atkinson stated “anger, anger issues” and that his actions were “not even basketball related.” Atkinson says that an appropriate consequence to his action would be fines.
Now Draymond Green is back after not playing in 12 games. This punishment could be seen as light by other players, but Atkinson believes that other players will probably not repeat Draymond’s actions as it would result in them losing money.
Not many people know about what happened to Draymond Green.
In a survey regarding the situation, only one out of eight respondents knew about the situation. I believe that the reason why so few people don’t know about it is because of a combination of not being interested in the NBA and not watching videos on social media about recent drama in sports.
Even though this situation is shocking, it was expected as he has been ejected from games 18 times in his entire career, which is the most out of any active NBA player. Draymond Green was reinstated into the league on January 3rd and played for the first time since his suspension on January 15th.
