Controversial call decides Super Bowl

With just 1:54 left in Super Bowl LVII, the Kansas City Chiefs needed to convert a crucial third down in Philadelphia Eagles territory to continue their drive and buy some time before trying a game-winning field goal. The score was tied 35-35.

The pass intended for Juju Smith-Schuster by Chiefs quarterback and newly crowned NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes fell to the Arizona field as he waited and tossed it toward the end zone.

When it appeared that Kansas City would have to shoot a field goal to end the drive and give the Eagles a chance to have one final drive with plenty of time for Jalen Hurts and company, a yellow flag from a referee flew onto the field.

The officials ruled that the defensive back Bradberry held Smith-Shuster during the play. This granted the Chiefs a first down and time to run the clock down to eleven seconds and seal the game, kicking the game winning field goal.

People across social media gave their disproval of the call including NBA superstar, Lebron James. I personally think this call was a terrible way to end such a good game and regardless of if they called the hold or not, Smith-Shuster would not have caught the ball as it was way overthrown. It should have been brought back. However, the game ended after the Eagles failed their last attempt with a Hail Mary, and the Kansas City Chiefs ended up winning Super Bowl 57.
