Best in Wilson: Flo's

by Cooper Howell

Where do you think the best place to get a biscuit is in Wilson, North Carolina?

If you are asking me what the best place is, I am for sure going to say Flo’s.

Flo’s has been open since October 30, 1990, at 1015 Goldsboro Street. The building is easy to miss, but once you taste your first biscuit you will never forget where it comes from. The first time I had a biscuit from Flo’s was when my dad and I were going hunting and got a big fluffy cheese biscuit on the way. This was the biggest biscuit I had ever had, the cheesiest of all.

Flo's biscuits range from a cheese biscuit all the way to a tenderloin biscuit, but they are most famous for their “cathead biscuits,” which is a cheese biscuit that is 6 inches all around. It is the size of a cat's head. These biscuits are so good they even made it in “Our State Magazine” in March 2017.

They are open from 4 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Saturday, but you better make sure you get there early because the line will get long quickly.
