Tyler Childers released his new album Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? on September 30, 2022. CJ Robl and a couple of others dislike the album. "It is overrated; it isn't his worst album, but not his best,” William Lanier states.

The album consists of 8 gospel songs all sung in three separate ways. There is a Jubilee version which contains a more loudly and upbeat tone. The Joyful Noise version consists of quotes from The Andy Griffith Show. The Hallelujah version which is the normal version of the songs which is slower than the Jubilee and Joyful noise versions.

All the songs are related to Childers recovering from chronic drug use in his past and him seeing light in God and following his footsteps which he has said on his music videos and in concerts.

Tyler had not made any songs or shown himself since his last album Long Violent History which was released in 2020. He has now started singing publicly and is going on tour across America.
